Baltimore Counts! A Children’s Counting & Art Book, written and designed by Siri Lise Doub and Wayne Arnold, is a project that invited local artists to illustrate 25 pieces of Baltimore trivia.
The combined book and art project is designed not only to educate Baltimore’s children and provide a bridge to local artists, but to benefit the community as a whole as well. All proceeds from sales of Baltimore Counts! will go directly to benefit the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s initiative OrchKids, a music education program designed for inner-city Baltimore City children. We plan to hold an event in the fall to sell the book and auction the artworks for the book in order to raise awareness and funds for OrchKids. The event will also include a larger exhibition of our contributing artists’ work curated by Oriet’s Fine Art.
